Ocean Relocation | Update on Service Delivery in Israel

Dear Clients and Partners,

As of June 24, 2025, a ceasefire has been declared between Israel and Iran. In light of this development and the easing of emergency restrictions, we would like to provide a brief operational update as conditions in Israel begin to stabilize.

Lifting of Emergency Directives (Temporarily)

As of Tuesday, June 24 at 20:00, the Home Front Command has lifted the emergency directives and eased nationwide safety restrictions. Schools and businesses have resumed regular activity, and movement is no longer limited. Residents are no longer required to remain near shelters. However, please note that these instructions are valid only until Thursday, June 26 at 20:00, and may be revised based on the evolving security situation.

Air Travel – Ben Gurion Airport
Ben Gurion Airport has resumed civilian air traffic. However, only Israeli airlines have restarted operations so far, and most foreign carriers have not yet resumed service. We advise checking with individual airlines for flight availability, as schedules remain fluid.

Shipping & Freight Operations
Our operations remain fully active. Sea freight and port handling have returned to normal, though minor delays may still occur. That said, some shipping lines have announced changes to their schedules this week, including omitting calls at Israeli ports due to the ongoing security situation. As a result, containers have been rebooked on the next available sailings.

In some cases, carriers have also shifted port calls from Haifa to Ashdod at the last minute. These adjustments have led to additional costs—such as transportation between ports, demurrage, and port storage—particularly where shipments were rolled to a later voyage due to missed cut-off dates or logistical disruptions.

Additionally, many shipping lines continue to apply war risk and emergency surcharges on freight to and from Israel. These charges are assessed independently by each carrier and may vary by route and schedule.

Air Freight Shipments
Due to the 12-day flight suspension and the limited number of active carriers, significant backlogs are expected for air cargo. Household goods shipments by air may face delays in both booking and transit until full commercial flight schedules resume.

Moreover, heightened security procedures at the airport are expected to further extend processing times for air shipments. We are working closely with our airline and handling partners to monitor space availability and minimize disruption wherever possible.

We encourage clients to consult with us regarding possible LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping alternatives. In some cases, this can offer more flexible timelines and cost-effective routing depending on origin and destination.

Relocation Services
All local relocation services and destination support are proceeding as usual. Our teams are actively managing logistics and timelines and will continue to update you as needed.

For clients who have evacuated and are unable to be present during packing or home handover, our Destination Consultants can attend on your behalf to oversee the process, coordinate with moving crews, and ensure your instructions are followed. Please reach out in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Notice Regarding B/1 Expert Work Permits and Visas
The Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) has announced the automatic extension of all valid B/1 expert work permits and visas that were set to expire between June 13 and July 30, 2025. These permits and visas will now remain valid until July 31, 2025, without requiring a formal extension request or payment of additional government fees.

This automatic extension is processed centrally through government systems and applies only to foreign experts currently residing in Israel with valid permits. Please note that it is valid only where an extension is legally permissible under the individual’s visa status.
