OMNI comes top in sustainability at the EMMAs

OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International) has announced that it has become the winner of this year’s Best Global Mobility Sustainability Initiative of the Year award at the EMMA awards for the EMEA region, presented by the Forum for Expatriate Management.  The award was given jointly to OMNI and Johan de Kam, trainer, academic and consultant who has been presenting a series of Sustainability Workshops to OMNI and FIDI members throughout 2022. The award was announced at a black-tie ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Wednesday 2 November.

The judges, made up of a panel of 53 industry experts, commented on the entry saying: “OMNI & Johan de Kam have challenged the consideration of sustainability as a ‘unique selling point’ and made high quality education available to many, free of charge, promoting a fair approach. Informed strategy and benchmarked results, wide-reaching, geographically inclusive, with both a social and environmental impact. Love it!”

Claire Tennant-Scull, Global Director of Content & Events at FEM commented on the EMMA awards themselves. “The FEM EMMAs remain the gold standard awards for the global mobility and international HR industry,” she said. “They are the only truly global, yet region-specific awards with the greatest breadth of categories for both corporate professionals and service providers.”

She continued: “The judges and I have been so impressed to see the quality of work undertaken by individuals, teams and organizations in the midst of so many challenging circumstances. It is a demonstration of how resourceful and resilient the people who work in this industry can be, and I think everyone who took part should feel very proud of what they have achieved.”

Chris Mackley, General Manager of OMNI, was understandably delighted by the award.  “We know that sustainability is a key issue for our time and are we very pleased that Johan de Kam has been able to work with us on this project.  We have also been please to open up the workshops to the wider industry in recognition of the need to tackle sustainability together. It’s great that our efforts have been appreciated and recognised in this way.”
