Peter McShea Named IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy
Aires in the USA has announced that Peter McShea, Aires’ Manager of Privacy, Risk, & Compliance and Privacy Officer, has been named a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). This prestigious designation recognises professionals who demonstrate exceptional knowledge, leadership, and commitment to the field of data privacy.
In a press release the company said that Peter’s achievement is more than a personal milestone: “It reflects Aires’ commitment to safeguarding the personal data entrusted to us by our clients,” it said. “As a company that handles vast amounts of personally identifiable information (PII) across global mobility programs, the integrity and security of that data is not just a priority, it is foundational to our success.”
Peter already has a number of certifications including: Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), and a Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law. His company said that he brings a rare blend of legal expertise, technical acumen, and strategic foresight to his role. It added that under his leadership, Aires has:
- Achieved ISO 27001 and 27701 certifications, placing us among the first globally to meet ISO 27701 standards for privacy management.
- Built GDPR- and CCPA-compliant frameworks for over 3,000 vendors.
- Led initiatives to integrate privacy-preserving technologies into AI development, including the creation of Aires’ Responsible Use of AI guidelines.
- Spearheaded readiness efforts for ISO 42001 Artificial Intelligence Management System certification.
The company added that Peter’s influence extends beyond compliance. The press release said: “He is a key contributor to Aires’ AI Trust Center and has helped shape our approach to transparency in AI-generated content, recommending clear disclaimers and ethical standards for all digital communications.”
