The Moving Company’s core business is international relocations, enabling us to service all shipments from our OMNI partners as a seamless extension of your brand while consistently exceeding customer expectations. With Move Transfer active for file notifications, direct online access for customs clearance, our own container handling equipment, and a dedicated import team, we track and monitor every shipment to ensure clear, informed communication throughout the import and export process.

Facilities
In Auckland, The Moving Company operates from a modern 65,000 sq ft facility, conveniently located just 10 minutes from Auckland International Airport and 45 minutes from Auckland’s main seaport. Our warehouses are fully bonded with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and HM Customs, and feature 24/7 security and access control, providing complete peace of mind while we store our customers’ prized possessions.
The Moving Company is the first in New Zealand to offer both short- and long-term storage in 20’ containers, enhancing security and reducing handling for full container load (FCL) and larger shipments. Smaller consignments are stored in traditional palletised hometainers, ensuring we remain competitive across all storage requirements.
Our facilities are first-class, with government agencies such as MPI utilising them to train new recruits and to film in-house training content relating to household goods entering New Zealand.
Customer Support Team
The Moving Company employs over 100 permanent staff, including a dedicated team of ten international shipping specialists, led by our International Manager, Mr Nozer Damania. Our experience, depth of knowledge, and strong service focus—combined with an average staff tenure of over 11 years—ensure the highest standards are consistently delivered and maintained. Training is ongoing and conducted in-house, including our tailored internal packers programme, where we work one-on-one with operational staff to maximise skill levels and remuneration.
We operate a unique night-shift team dedicated to devanning import containers six nights a week, ensuring efficient turnaround and clearance times for import shipments. This has proven particularly valuable during peak periods, helping to keep clearance and delivery times in line with customer expectations.
Services Offered
When you consign your import or export shipment to The Moving Company, you can be assured of our attention to detail and clear communication.
Import customers are allocated a Move Manager to ensure all questions are answered promptly and progress is accurately communicated. Relevant customs and quarantine documentation is provided digitally, and telephone assistance is available to support completion. Appointments can also be arranged for customers to visit our offices and complete documentation one-on-one.
All containers are devanned at our facilities for MPI (quarantine) screening, replicating the import process used in Australia. All shipments are delivered using our own furniture and container trucks. Our fleet is equipped with tail lifts, enabling heavy items such as pianos to be delivered with ease.
