Frederick "Fred" Paxton II

OMNI wishes to mark with great respect the passing of Frederick “Fred” Daw Paxton II, of Great Falls, Virginia, passed away on July 11, 2026. He was born in Champaign, Illinois, and built a life defined by hard work, integrity, and devotion to those he loved
Fred was a leader in the moving and relocation industry, serving as Chief Executive Officer of Paxton Van Lines, and Paxton International where he continued a proud five generation family legacy while helping guide the company with vision, dedication, and professionalism. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Atlas World Group, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout the industry for his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Those who knew Fred will remember him as a man of strong character, generous spirit, and quiet determination. He believed in the value of hard work, treating people with respect, and always doing the right thing. His legacy lives on through his family, the business he helped lead, and the many lives he touched throughout his career and community.
Fred will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. The members of the management and Board of OMNI wish to pass on their condolences to his entire family at this difficult time, especially to his sons, Freddy and Bill Paxton, Freddy’s husband Steven and Bill’s wife Laura who have been the faces of the company at many conferences in recent years.
Fred’s funeral was held on 15 July in Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family asked for friends and industry colleagues to consider a donation to Move for Hunger (www.moveforhunger.com) one of the charities Fred supported.
