The 23rd November 2022 saw the fifth in OMNI’s series of six sustainability seminars hosted by academic, consultant and trainer Johan de Kam. Whereas the first four in the series looked at strategy, reducing waste, employee management and developing low carbon corporations, session five focussed on organisational culture and sustainability. The session was open to all OMNI and FIDI members.
The Suddath Companies (TSC) in the USA was recently honoured for making significant global business contributions to northern Florida. The JAXUSA Partnership, the economic development division of JAX Chamber, selected TSC as the 2022 recipient of its International Company of the Year award.
Asian Tigers is working to help provide relief to the people of Cianjur, West Java, following a major earthquake in November last year. Indonesia is prone to earthquakes because it is on the Ring of Fire, an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Ocean basin. The shoe-shaped area stretches for 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) and is the site of most of the world’s earthquakes.
Bill Lloyd, Managing Director of Asian Tigers in Indonesia has advised that the legal name of the business has changed from PT Citra Air (trading as Asian Tigers Indonesia) to PT Citra Nusantara Logistik. The change came into effect on 1st January 2023. The company will still trade as Asian Tigers Indonesia. This change in name comes as the result of the recently announced Management Buyout (MBO) agreement between Gerry Lane and Bill Lloyd.
Aires has announced that the company has earned the 2022 Juan Peralta Ecology Award for Outstanding Achievements and Contributions in Sustaining and Protecting the Environment from the Pan American International Movers Association (PAIMA). This is the fourth time Aires has earned this recognition from PAIMA.
Freight Systems India, trading as Interem, has joined OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International). Interem is a subsidiary of Freight Systems and, in practice, has been company’s household goods division in India for approaching 30 years. Its sister company in Dubai is already an established member of the OMNI network.
Before joining the Asian Tigers Group Tim spent six years working at a Hong Kong based IT company. In this role, his responsibilities included managing the development, implementation, sales, and marketing of web-based software and mobile apps for relocation and visa & immigration providers worldwide. Before his role in Hong Kong, Tim also worked in the IT department of a global relocation management company in North America.
Yokohama System Mover has been accepted as a Probationer member of OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International) at the organisation’s recent Annual General Meeting. This means that the company takes its position as the third member company in Japan alongside Asian Tigers and Yamatane Overseas Moving.
OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International) has announced that it has become the winner of this year’s Best Global Mobility Sustainability Initiative of the Year award at the EMMA awards for the EMEA region, presented by the Forum for Expatriate Management. The award was given jointly to OMNI and Johan de Kam, trainer, academic and consultant who has been presenting a series of Sustainability Workshops to OMNI and FIDI members throughout 2022. The award was announced at a black-tie ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Wednesday 2 November.
