Global removal specialist John Mason International has extended its popular Moving Gang with a new family member – Lenny the Lion.
The ‘gang’ is a collection of cartoon characters designed to help younger movers relate to and cope with the experience of relocating abroad. And now Lenny the Lion has prowled onto the scene, to represent his home country – South Africa.
United Van Lines agents in the USA have supported police officers who have died in the line of duty with their annual Unity Tour for Fallen Police Officers. The event took place on 12 May 2017 and involved 2,200 motorcycle riders from around the country converging on The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. Over the last 20 years the Unity Tour has raised $23 M for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Once again United Van Lines agents were honoured to logistically support.

Oman-Beverly Smyth (Bond Business Support Ltd.), has been awarded AEO certification, Europe’s Equivalent of CT-PAT. The award was made by the Irish Revenue Commissioners and is a European wide certification, this is a first for the moving business in Ireland.
The pan-European group Gosselin Mobility has acquired the moving activities of Packimpex with effect from July 1st, 2017. The deal concluded between Marc Smet (CEO and owner of Gosselin) and Marcel Jörg (CEO and owner of Packimpex) includes the moving and storage activities and real estate properties of Packimpex.
FIDI has announced that its 2018 conference will take place in Puerto Rico, not Rio de Janeiro as previously announced. The conference will be from Sunday 8 to Wednesday 11 April 2018.
FIDI said that it had made the change as a result of concerns raised over security as the ongoing violence and political unrest in Rio de Janeiro showed no sign of resolution. The FIDI Board had carefully monitored the situation and come to its decision supported by an independent Risk Assessment Report and first-hand testimonies from local affiliates.
